Bénédicte Boisson

Bénédicte Boisson is a lecturer in theatre studies in the Department of Performing Arts at Rennes 2 University, a member of Arts: Practical and Poetic (EA 3208) and an associate researcher at Arias (CNRS), UMR Thalim (CNRS, ENS, Paris 3).

Since she obtained her PhD in 2007, she has dedicated her research – combining aesthetics, anthropology and performance analysis – to the position of the theatre spectator and the sensitive dimension of reception and the experimental performing arts (in the 20th and 21st century). She has published several articles and books on the subject.

Bénédicte Boisson co-directed the seminar New Theatricalities (NoThx) on contemporary scenic practices, hosted between 2014 and 2017 by the Nanterre-Amandiers Theatre.
